The all-new BMW iX3, the first mass-produced model born from the Neue Klasse vision, marks a major milestone in the history of the German brand. eDrive Technology
Equipped with sixth-generation eDrive technology, the new SUV features an all-wheel drive system with two highly efficient electric motors, a new high-voltage battery with cylindrical cells, and 800 volts technology. The motors produce a combined output of 463 horsepower and 476 foot-pounds of torque. Compared to the fifth generation, the battery delivers a 20% increase in energy density and up to 30% faster charging speeds, while energy losses have been reduced by 40%. According to preliminary tests, the vehicle can achieve up to 650 kilometres of range.
Fast and Bidirectional Charging
The eDrive technology delivers ultra-fast charging of up to 400 kilowatts on direct current. In just 21 minutes, your iX3 can regain up to 80% of its range using an 800-volt fast-charging station. The battery management system, featuring an integrated switching fabric developed in-house by BMW, along with optimized battery efficiency, help reduce charging time while ensuring compatibility with 400 volts charging stations. This means less time spent charging and a more seamless daily routine. Using the Wallbox BMW Professional charging station, you can charge your SUV at home at an output of up to 19.2 kilowatts.
Since the iX3 is equipped with bidirectional charging, you can use it as a power source. The vehicle-to-load function can power electrical devices. Whether it's your laptop, camping equipment, or a refrigerator, the iX3 can charge all your devices and provide unmatched peace of mind. You could even use it to power your home in the event of a power outage (vehicle-to-home). The ability to store energy using photovoltaic systems installed at home will be offered at a later date. The capability to exchange energy between the SUV and the electric network serving a building or neighbourhood (vehicle-to-grid) may be offered in the future.

Exterior and Interior
At the forefront of the Neue Klasse lineup, the iX3 offers the latest design and technology innovations that will shape the brand's entire model range in the future. The SUV's exterior makes a bold statement thanks to its vertical front design, vertically arranged heat pipes, wide air intakes, and a black strip along the lower part of the bumper. It features 20-inch alloy wheels that give it a sporty look and extended horizontal taillights that accentuate its visual width and provide a distinctive lighting signature. The body has been meticulously designed to improve aerodynamic resistance, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.24.
This elegance extends into the interior. The cabin features a modern atmosphere where comfort and generous space comfortably accommodate five occupants. The dashboard, enhanced by ambient lighting, creates a warm and refined atmosphere. The cabin features redesigned seats in perforated Veganza as standard, available in Black, Digital White, or Castanea. Additionally, black BMW Individual Merino leather is available as an option. The large glass surfaces and the optional panoramic roof with Climate glass flood the cabin with natural light. The optional BMW 3D head-up display projects important information into your field of view, and the 17.9-inch central display offers a wide range of features to entertain both the driver and passengers.
New Electronics Architecture
Truly software-defined, the iX3 is well equipped for the future with four computers, or "superbrains." These are highly performant and contribute to the intelligent and innovative character of the first model of the Neue Klasse. The control units command the following functions:
- Driving dynamics: manages the transmission, brakes, energy regeneration, and steering functions. This unit processes information up to ten times faster than conventional control units.
- Automated driving: provides computing power 20 times greater than that of the current iX3.

This new architecture eliminates approximately 600 metres of wiring, reducing the SUV's weight by about 30%.
